Default My package is on vacation.

I ordered some Amy Butler fabric for a new quilt I really want to make for myself. Finally decided to go for it. Ordered online from a store in California (if you drove in a straight line - the shop would be about 8 hrs south of me) and I am in Northern California - right next to the Oregon border. The package was shipped last Wed. with a tracking number - I have been following it through the postal system - it went from Southern California all the way to Boston, MA - its residing there for a day or so - I suppose it will catch a flight back to Northern California as its final destination - but who knows - maybe my package wants to go sight seeing. Will let you know as it progresses. Maybe I should mail myself somewhere - perhaps I could go on vacation too.

Isn't it ridiculous what the mail system does anymore?

Although most packages arrive promptly, I too have had a couple that took a road trip. One in particular was traveling around for over two weeks and through 10 states before it finally got to me. If they could talk, the stories they could tell.........

UPS sent one of mine to Asheville, then sent it back to the warehouse in Illinois; they cancelled that order and re-shipped it and all in all it took two weeks. Some "essential" bar code must have fallen off in transit. And my new cell phone took 3 1/2 weeks to arrive, via Fed Ex. These were both within the last 3 months.

You think that's bad, you should see where most the produce goes before it gets to your stores, even if it is grown in the same state.
I am not sure if it is still true, but not too long ago if you flew over Texas air space you had to land in one of the Texas airports and pay their state fees.
Some rules in the transportation laws are just weird.

I had that happen a few months ago. Ordered from Allstitch in Baltimore. I followed the tracking every day, and for 2 1/2 weeks it was stuck in a loop- Pennsylvania, Ohio and Illinois. UPS is always good about sending me apology emails for a package being late but it doesn't help when I can see it going in circles around the country.

On vacation and taking the scenic route. Hope it gets homesick soon.
