I used a Hobbs 80/20 for that quilt, one of my favourites. I also like the Legacy 80/20, Quilter's Dream Cotton and Tuscany or Legacy cotton.
The number of stitches varies a little, of course - depending on the fabric and the batting. On that quilt I could make ca. 15 per inch (counted on the top).

OMG!! Andrea, that is just drop dead, stunning, gorgeous and amazing. Yes you truly deserved the "Best of" ribbon for this one. I remember when you announced you won but were not allowed to post pictures of it. This was soooo worth the wait to see pics. Just beautiful. A true work of art.
