I would go to the local home depot and grab as many little swatches as you can and line them up on your wall. choose the one that you like. I have burgandy walls in one room and a sage green in another and they both are warm and comforting. Good luck!

Oh and just a suggestion they have small samples of some of the paints if you paint on the back of a paper plate you can get a good idea of how the color will look in your new room!

Thanks everyone I'm a newbie and thought that you needed a certain color paint if you do crafts. I think I am going to a yellowish green, makes me think of spring. I am also drawn to an L shaped configuration so I can piece, press and square up without leaving my little area. I would love one of those craft amoires but they are very pricey. I am looking forward to my new room, Ill take pictures when I get it done.
