    Default Name this quilt pattern

Saw these 2 quilts in an antique store today. They were both well made but the one with the muslin background I have never seen before. It was labeled as a "basket" quilt. Truthfully when I first saw it laying on a table the "baskets" were upsidedown and looked like "rings" (as in for your finger). Any further name . . .?

The second quilt is a Spiderweb pattern. The basket quilt has a Dresden plate part. I wonder if the name might be Dresden Basket?

Spiderweb for sure, for the second one. Dresden basket sounds like a good name for the first one.

I did a search for Dresden Basket Quilt blocks and found a couple examples of the top quilt so Mt guess is that is what it was called. I have been thinking about working on a Dresden quilt soon so this caught my eye. Dont care for the handle but baskets are perking to the top of my Dresden Project List. Thanks for posting the pics.

The basket pattern is in "Applique Quilt Revival, updated patterns from the '30s", 2008, by Nancy Mahoney. She identified it as "Colonial Scrap Baskets" by Alice Brooks. I think I've also seen it in a 1970s quilting magazine.

I really like the spider web fabrics. I have only seen them made with fabrics from the 80s and 90s. THANKS for posting.

...so, did you buy them? I would have been tempted and if the price was right, I would have!

Nope didn't buy them. Money is tight, DH is losing his job as of July 1 so I was only looking ... and taking pictures! I sent DD#3 the pic of the Dresden Baskets and she thought it looked like a "ring pop"! Now that she mentioned it, it does.
