    Looks like a hexagon braid to me. Do a search on it & you should find it.

    I would call it a chevron. Guess that stems from my growing up during the WWII war and all the soldiers had chevrons on their sleeves, or the ones who had been in the army for a while.

    It a chevron done in strips. NOT a French braid. Whatever you call it it's really nice.
