if you were making a table runner and table toppers with Native American theme (my son and DIL's latest "thing") would you use any specific pattern for it? I bought what SW colors I could find (reds, dark brown, sand, aqua etc) but all but one are solid fabrics. Any suggestions appreciated or pics of ones you have done.

if you can get a hold of the Fall 2010 edition of Easy Quilts (thru QCA by Fons & Porter), there is a nice one (featured on "Quilt Out Loud" designed by Jodie Davis called "Copper Canyon". Measures 80 x 90. Maybe you can find it on line thru Fons & Porter if you can't get the magazine.

Oops-just saw you wanted table runner size. It is a neat quilt, though!

Both my daughters were born in Albuquerque, and one of them wants a table mat that looked like an Indian bowl with typical markings. Sorta dark brown with black markings. Have to do a little research on that. Probably have to go with special fabrics
on this one. The other daughter loves green, so hers will most likely look like an Indian rug. Can't give one something even
now, the gifted one will be on the phone within 10 minutes after
receiving hers, bragging!! And they are both mature? over 50 year olds.

    Magpiefeather,
I was going to suggest that shop also. Very Southwest. I try to go there every time I visit Albuquerque. I just love that shop. I have suggested it here on board before.

I have never been there but I would love to someday! It really is the best place to find Native/SW patterns and fabric etc. all in one place...

I think I may have some fabric that has beads on it. Real colorful. If you think you may be interested let me know and I will dig it out.
