I am going to be a grandma! I have plenty of time if I start designing and fabric shopping now :) I would appreciate any design ideas, themes for baby etc. I still have to see what my daughter will like too, but I'm excited to get started!

Congrats! Are they going to find out whether it's a boy or a girl? I'm expecting a new grandchild in July but don't want to start the quilt till we know. I've been browsing online shops to see what's available for kids. That's where I'd start. You can get lots of ideas there, maybe too many. LOL

Grandchildren are one of the good things about getting older. They let you enjoy them without all of the responsibility. Have fun planning and dreaming.

Baby quilts are fun! Congratulations (and best wishes to the mommy-to-be for a healthy pregnancy)!
Most important before choosing fabrics is whether they want pastels, medium-light brights, crayola brights, or a specific color scheme. It may be too early for them to have decided on a nursery theme -- your quilt might spark one for them!

How fun! Search on here for baby quilts and you'll get many ideas.

Plan to make several! Little one, bigger one, toddler bed one, floor one, car/stroller one - as many as you like!

Thanks so much :) I'm sure I'll have too many ideas and Lord help my husband because I'll be dragging him back into the baby aisles! I haven't done much quilting lately as I've been studying for tax season, but I'm excited to get back to it soon.

Exactly what I was going to say!
Why limit yourself to one baby quilt? You've got time to make a few!

There is nothing like a grandchild to spark the ol' creative quilting spirit. You'll end up making everything he/she could possibly want. Been there, still doing that.
