Has anyone used Hobbs 80/20 fussible or non-fussible batting?
Or any recommendations on a good batting? I do not use Warm and Natural for my quilts. I saw that Hobbs is on sale at reasonable price at Connecting threads. I am a fairly new quilter.

I use warm n natural most of the time. I am putting together a wool quilt and feel that it will be too much with all of the heavy fabric, so I will go with a polly blend on that one. Try different types/kinds till you find what you like, there is really no wrond decision.

I use Quilters Dream Blend (70/30) for my machine quilting and it is very easy to work with.

I use Hobbs 80/20 on about all of my customer's quilts and on all of my quilts. I really like the way it gets more soft after each wash and the quilt stitches sink in just enough to show the tecture more then the stitches. It draps very nicely. It's just my opionion, but I think Warm and Natural makes a quilt a little more stiff.

I have used Hobbs 80/20 both the fusible and non- fusible. I did not think the fusible was very good , it did not stay fused very well. The weight of the quilt would pull apart the layers as I was repositioning. the fusible did NOT accomplish what I was looking for ... no pins... smooth front and back ... I was really dissapointed. It might work for small projects like a table runner.
Plus you can not preshrink the fusible... a drawback for those projects I wanted it to stay flat/smooth with out the puckering of an antique quilt.
When I use the regular Hobbs 80/20 i use with spray basting and have very good results.

I have used the Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 and like it a lot -- very nice batting. I have no desire to even try a fusible; have seen so many reports of problems with them.

Quilters Dream battings are my personal favorites, but Hobbs 80/20 is good too, and more of my customers use it as it's less expensive than Quilters Dream.

I do not LIKE Warm and Natural at all, and it's one batting I will not take if a customer supplies their own. It does feel really nice all on its own, but it's stretchy, distorts easily, and quilts up stiff.

I don't like Warm & Natural either. It's stiff as a board. I like Hobbs 80/20 non fusible or Quilters Dream cotton or QD poly.

I use the Hobbs 80/20 pretty often and like it. It gets much softer after mutiple washings.

The fusible is a waste of time if you ask me. I used it on a baby quilt and still had to pin-baste because it wouldn't stay fused. And the whole reason I used it was to save time and not have to pin-baste. Plus, it seemed much stiffer than the other kind, even after a washing.
