Our Newcomers Club has a group called "Stitch and Bitch" and they meet once a month at someone's house. Everyone works on whatever they want, whether it is sewing, crafting, crocheting, knitting, etc. The hostess furnishes refreshments.

the name that has always made me giggle is Our Lady of the Cloth..... It was a group of gals from a Catholic parish in Indiana I think. We meet in Shipshewanam, Indiana. I know it would not fit every group but it makes me smile.

We're a new group and each of us lives in the Shenandoah Valley here in VA. We call ourselves "Stars of the Shenandoah Quilters"...and since we make service quilts we sometimes refer to ourselves as the SOS quilters.
Thinking about your geographical area is another way to name your group.

I like Stanley Steamers but a sewing group could be Stanley Stitchers.

Well there is the movie Friday Night Lights, why not "Wednesday Night Lites" or "Wednesday Night Ladies or Gals". I love the "Calico Camels" that is cute. You could be the WEDS Club "We Enjoy Designs and Sewing" or "We Encourage Designs and Sewing". Ho abut "Quilty Sisters" or "Quilty Sewers", "SQUATS" (Sew Quilts Up And Then Share) There could be any number of cute catchy names.
