I am almost ready to quilt my attic window quilt. At this point I cannot decide on what pattern to use on the 1) frame, 2)bottom sill, 3) left panel. When looking at different attic window pictures, it is not clear to me if I should just ditch stitch the windows or actually quilt the panels. Can I get some ideas? And possibly a picture? Your help would be so much appreciated!!!!

I have made 2 attic windows, the first one I did an all over med to large stipple and it really failed the quilt. Since you could see the thread on the the quilt it took away from the 3d effect. The second one I did was SID only and that one looks alot better. They are both christmas quilts and are put away or I would take a picture and post for you. But from experience I would go with the SID.

With that one i would stitch in the ditch. They are truly beautiful, they don't need much

Here is a link to mine. Scroll down the ultra close up is the 6th picture. This was a relatively small window block. I think it only measured about 4" finished so I did not quilt in the panel. I did SID then did echo stitching on the sash and sill.

I'm glad you asked. I've been wondering too.
