I have Juki with the Sure Stitch regulator. I do not unplug the regulator. I use the on and off button on the handle control to wind my bobbins. I have actually never plugged in the foot pedal because this machine is stuck on my pinnacle frame.
I would check the connections one more time.

Thanks, Jennifer. I tried to use the stitch regulator to wind the bobbin but could not do it - but come to find out the regulator was already not working :( - I have to wait for them to send a new one - they say it will take three days!! :)

If its coming from the grace company, they are typically very reliable. They shipped my missing/broken parts without question.
