Default Need help with border size

I am making a quilt for a wedding that is in 11 days. I have the blocks put together and the first and second borders on. So far it measures 66 x 91, I have at least one more border to put on. Would it look strange if I put a 12" wide border on the sides and a 6" border on the top/bottom for the third border to make the size a total of 90x103. Somehow I need to get more width without increasing the length.

    any ideas are welcome

I often use different size top and side borders to achieve the size I want and I think they look fine.

Could you add an extra row of blocks to widen it?

Thats what I would do. A easy row of maybe nine patch or something then the sae size border all around, unless of course it interferes with the top itself.

if not another row of blks, do an inner border where needed rather than 12 inches wide one.

You will get better answers for this specific quilt if you post pictures of it. I've been helped out alot by posting pictures.

I'm doing just that for a wedding quilt right now! The sides and bottom are 6" wider than the top. Nice to know it is a common practice!
