I think the one with the bones is just perfect.

Bones for sure. Second choice - the rust color with a lot of beautiful quilting.

My vote is for bones and white around the small pictures.

I love the bones fabric. It is fun. The solids seem so serious. My dogs always make me laugh, so I tend to think that playful is a good way to go.

That is too adorable! Personally, I like the bones print, although it is 'busy', it makes the quilt fun, like Yorkies! The solid backgrounds make the pictures float more, but are just to plain for my taste. You might try alternating the bottom right Yorkie with the colored flowers with one of the top Yorkies, just to balance out the extra colors that match the bones print. If you decide on the solids, maybe find a paw print design or bones to make the background fun. Either way you go, it's a cute quilt and your friend is very lucky to receive it!

I like the bone fabric, which surprises me because I am usually very conservative about background fabric. But the white in the blocks make the pictures stand out, I think, so the busyness is not a problem. Second or other choice would be the third photo, the darkish brown. Don't like the beige at all in that I think it does nothing for the yorkie photos. The photos are adorable, by the way!
