Number 1 or 3 would be my choices. Absolutely gorgeous focus fabric!

i like the blue too, which i guess is number 3. i'd tr to pull that out of the butterfly print.

i might try switching out the blue for the yellow, making the yellow a much smaller strip?

If you would like to have the focus fabric pop, I think you need a colors which do not stand out so much, maybe even black and blue.

My vote is for #4. Even that one slightly overpowers the focus fabric but less so than the others, IMHO. I do think there might be other choices out there. Good luck with your hunt.

I agree with MacThayer. The butterfly fabric "pops" with the blue. I hardly notice it in 1.

Glad you like it. I think it really helps to break up the blue and yellow and
ties in the focus fabric really well. Can't wait to see it finished.

Referencing post #66 ~ Oh my yes this is much, much better the red square withing the yellow cross and the matching blue returns the eye to the butterflies. Brilliant! I so admire people who can envision just the right patterns for specific fabric designs to make a quilt pop!

What would happen if you took number one and changed one of the yellow strips in the blocks to blue.
