Default Need help figuring out a pattern

Hi All, I would like to make a version of this quilt. I really like the setting for the stars, but cannot find a pattern for it anywhere. It looks a bit "tricky" because the star blocks share corners with the star blocks on adjoining rows, so I would rather have a pattern than try to figure it out. (Maybe I am making it more difficult than it is?) Do any of you have a pattern, or know the name of the pattern for this setting? If not, maybe one of you would be able to tell me how you would approach this.
    Thanks!

Think of the 16 patches as the blocks, the flying geese as the sashing with white cornerstones.
Or you could construct it as 2 different alternating blocks. The "A" block (outlined in green) has the flying geese pointing away from the 16 patch. The "B" block (red) has the flying geese pointing in. You will then need to add a border on the left side & bottom to complete the pattern.

Then just pick a number for the 16 patch: Like make the squares finish at 1" (cut them at 1.5"), then the flying geese need to finish at 2X4", and the white square finishes at 2"

That is what I see too, a 16 patch w/ pieced sashing.

I would try to find something similar in the applique if you feel confident to fake it. I think the size is 68"x 68". I think the borders are as wide as the 16" square block which I would do as 2" finished.

And if you wanted to simplify it a bit, make the squares 9 patches.

I would make the blocks like this Row 2- square with flying geese on each side, square, (square are te same size) repeat. Row 3- narrow row of alternating flying geese and small square block. Row 1 is the border - Flying geese , retangle, flying geese. The center of the block look like a 16 patch but you could make it solid if you wanted to. Show us the finished top!!! Good luck!!!!!

Thank you all so much! I see that it is just a matter of how you look at a pattern and break it down. I was really concentrating on those star blocks and not seeing the rest of the design. I will post photos when I get something together. This board is so fabulous!!

I made a quilt like this. It was star blocks and a pieced sashing that made the other star. Here is how it was broke up with I made it.

And here is a link to the one I made: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...rs-t24639.html
