Post Need help with finished quilt..

I have 2 quilts that my Mom embroidered 16 x 16 blocks. Her sister put them together & had them quilted. Problem is: using 1 on my queen size bed it just fits the top, with no drops on sides or bottom.
    How do I make bigger?

Could you add a couple of photos? That would help.

I would add borders with batting and backing and quilt that part and then bind the whole quilt. Sharonve

Okay, I would get a beautiful plain lightweight (creme or white) bedspread and put the quilt on top of it. I have done that with twin size quilts and put a lightweight bedspread under it. Works for me. Now, you could make a border of about 10 inches on each side , top and bottom and add it to the quilt if you want to create a larger quilt.

It is not difficult to add borders but you have to be familiar with the technique QAYG.

You can either add borders QAYG as mentioned or attach a dust ruffle on three sides to hang down.

A while ago I came across Ankastreasures blog and I love the square quilt she made and puts on top of a bedspread. I think it's a great idea. It is listed in the Oct 2013 blog. Interesting read. Could you do something like that?
