Ok...I'm sitting here looking at the book and there are 2 different block sizes. There's a 9" finished block and a 14.5" finished block.

    The 9" block contains (1) 5" x 9.5" rectangle, (2) 2.75" x 3.5" rectangles, (1) 2" x 9.5" rectangle, and the center rectangle is 3.5" x 5"

    The 14.5" block contains (1) 8" x 15" rectangle, (2) 5.5" x 4" rectangles, (1) 2.5" x 15" rectangle, and the center rectangle is 5.5" x 8"

But are you doing the blocks that just have 3 pieces total? There are several patterns in my book...

OK, so using those same proportions, the measurements I have in the picture upthread are correct for a 12" block.

The finished measurements for the sections of the
9" block are 4.5"/3"/1.5" and the
    12" block are 6"/4"/2".

However, what your fabric was/is cut for is another matter.

    8.25 plus 2.25 = 10.5 plus last strip 1.25 = 11.75

are you sure 1.5 is right?

    .... thinking 2.25...

unless you meant all pieces laid together unsewn, then those 1.5 works
