Default Need help with ideas for DS quilt

My youngest DS is a mega sports fan. He also works in the ticket office for the Houston Texans. So I bought some Texans fabric and some footballs fabric and now I'm totally at a loss as to where to proceed with this.

I'm thinking maybe the footballs will work nicely for the backing.

Saw a really nice one on here that had appliqué of the Texans logo, but I don't really do appliqué, so don't think I want to tackle that (oh what a bad pun!).

Anyway I would appreciate ideas from you wonderful folks!

    Thanks in advance.

Have you watched the new MSQC video of Jabob's Lader Remix? I think it is a great pattern for a two colour quilt in a sport teams colours.

Not that I could draw it out but maybe a Twister Texan--no applique then and would look really cool. Good luck with your choices I am sure you will get plenty. I was glad to see Kubiak is feeling well enough to go to practice today.

Here are a few ideas I found for you

    1 - https://www.pinterest.com/pin/500955158521783105/

    2 - http://www.etsy.com/listing/16431889...w_type=gallery

    3 - http://happyquiltingmelissa.blogspot...1_archive.html

4 - http://straystitches1.blogspot.com/2...1_archive.html - scroll way down to Thursday, March 24, 2011. I like this one because it gives an impression of the yard lines on a football field

5 - http://yardsandyards.blogspot.com/20...ectangles.html - this one could be made to look like a football field – green background, white lines, and use your Texas fabric for the rectangles

Scroll down to Tuesday, May 21, 2013, Steelers Football Quilt. You can easily change this to your school colors

Someone posted this free pattern called TAKE TWO the other day. She even has the directions if your fabric is a directional print:

It is on Carol Wright website. I have already started cutting the fabric and it looks quick and easy. Hope I didn't make a typo !!
