I purchased a new Viking Sapphire 855 in August. Yesterday was the first time I tried the blanket stitch and it was awful. If you have one of these machines, what setting do you use, etc.?

Were you trying it out for the purpose of machine applique? If so, it may actually be the blind hem stitch that you need to try out.

Yes, I tried to machine applique with the stitch the dealer told me to use. I'll try the blind hem stitch and see how that works. Thank you.

I've worked on one...What was wrong with the stitch. Do you adjust the width and length?

Yes I tried several adjustments. It made two stitches with crooked loop-like stitches and then the straight line between was fine. It worked fairly well as long as I just sewed in a straight line but the curves were terrible.
