    Hi everyone

Okay for those who saw my Practice Squares...I need a different color to go under a row so I was wondering what would be the best choice of color.

It has light brown, light/dark purple, green, and white that I am using now. It has Light Purple/Dark Purple in a brown basket. I am sewing four squares to each row and underneath each row I would like to add a different color of squares so what do you suggest for a different color. I don't know if I'm going to make Sashing or just another row of squares.

I will need to order more material for this practice quilt for the alternative colors rows. I will probably order it from Connecting Threads but I looked the other day and I didn't see any that would go good with my Practice Quilt. Now granted I do have Dark Purple Material too so would that go good with this or not? I could take the Dark Puple and make strips to go in between each row too. I also have light Purple too. If you want I can take a picture of my material and show it to everyone too.

    What do you suggest?

Any help on this would be very much appreciative.

The pictures are under the thread called "Pictures". I'm going to upload more here in a minute of my Scrappy Material.

I would personally go with a green that most matches the green as that is in almost all your squares..purple is in some.. and the green might help tie things down in a calming way? more traditional looking. The dark purple could work but what you could do is take that purple, place the other colors on top of it say leaving a sashing width size swatch of purple showing and take a pic.. stand back and look at that pic with your eyes squinted.. it blurrs your image but not the colors and your eye will pick out MOST of the time if its a good match or if its off.. sometimes I think something matchs to stand back give that a try and think oh heck no..

I vote for the greens (for everyone wondering how I know the colors looked at her profile and her postings and its right there listed Practice squares or quilt..

Thank you but I decided that I'm going to make a scrappy quilt out of the material that I already have except for the material that I bought at Alco yesterday for my quilt that I do have to make for my person for the Quilting Guild. If you want to see what the material looks like go under "Pictures" here on the board and I have the pictures of my practice squares plus the material that I am going to use in my Scrappy Quilt. I am not going to be using the Orange one. My material that I do have is not enough to use as a backing or anything like that so I decided to make a scrappy quilt and this will be my small practice quilt. :)

If any of you want to see pictures of my material that I am going to use in my Scrappy Quilt than go to "Pictures" on the board here and you will see the material.

I will take pictures later on of my material that I am going to use in my actual quilt and get them posted under "Pictures".

    :)
