I bought this panel and don't know what to do with it. Does anyone have any idea for a small quilt or wall hanging for this? It is by Robert Kaufman called Oriental Traditions. I sent an email to them but it didn't come with a pattern. It may be a UFO in my fabric for years to come. Help.

When the top of the photo first appeared, I thought it was a cat panel. My disappointment. I have some cat panels I haven't made into anything yet, and a whole bin of cat fabrics.

You could cut the photo blocks apart, add additional coordinating borders around the blocks, then add other oriental fabrics, even in just squares or rectangles to make it bigger, probably not more than lap size.

How about just a simple patchwork using asian fabrics? Each picture already has nice borders on them just carefully cut them out, separate them with the patchwork like 3 1/2" squares or whatever size works best.

You could also make each one look like a picture using a wood like fabric and doing mitered corners on the framing fabric then use a pretty asian print as a background.

What about using the panel as is and then making big borders around it. Maybe black or maybe coordinating fabric if it's available.

Love the wood grain fabric frame idea!

Believe I'd look for coordinating fabrics first. Then cut the blocks apart and start "creating". Bet you'll have lots of fun figuring it out.

When you mentioned it looked like a cat panel, I started searching on line for different quilts out of dog, cat etc. and came up with several ideas. Thanks.

I've never done a shaddow box but I think I will look into that. Thanks.
