Im just going to go for it and see how it turns out. I have a really pretty pink and white for the solid and a white on white for the other print. I think it will be pretty. I want to give it to my mom. I will post pictures.

The directions said to cut 4 3/8 inch squares to cut into triangles -

On the post timed for 20:31:31 - you said you CUT 3 3/8 inch squares to cut into triangles -

Was that a typo or was that what you did?

Use your measurements, not what she says.

As jstich said the triangles are supposed to be bigger than the squares just fold the triangles in half & the squares too. Then match the creaseline of the triangle to the creaseline of the square & sew away. You will have an overlap at the end but your be fine :D
Practice it on some other spare fabric you have to see the result if your abit confused. That's what I always do is practice blocks with spare fabric. Hope this helps.

It "seams" to me that the triangle that will be sewed to the perimeter of the square should be larger than the side of the square. If the square is 4 inches, then shouldn't the triangle be cut from the 4 and 3/8 inch square. I don't get the 3 and 3/8 measurement?
