anything with bright colors, you could do any pattern, but bright colors are great for little ones....OR if you applique, machine or by hand, there are such cute free applique patterns on the web, such as turtles, animals, trucks, cars, trains, just anything for the little....congrats on your addition, and good luck with the quilt.....

I did an A-B-C quilt I got from a kit. I got it from my LQS, but you can find it here - http://www.americanjane.com/kits.php
It came together really fast, and it looks so cute when finished. Best part is, the label is pieced into the quilt, so no one can remove it over the years, without ruining the quilt!

I try to make baby quilts with different textures as well as colors, so I use bright colors in cottons, satins, velvets, chenilles, whatever has a different texture. What little boys don't love trucks and trains. Good luck and have fun with it.

I'm getting ready to make quilts out of cheater panels that are suposed to be used for books. I'm going to use the pages and put boarders arround them and turn them into quilts. I have bought the three little pigs panel from walmart and useing bright boarders.
