I need help finding a carrier for my sewing machine to be able to take it to a retreat. I cannot affort the cases I have found for carrying your machine. I was thinking about the carriers for luggage that I have seen where you set you bags on them and then hook a strap around to hold them in place, they are on rollers and have a handle that pulls(of course this is for people that do not have rolling luggage). I know I have seen these but can't remember where.

can anyone help. I am going to a retreat in 3 weeks and sure need something to carry my machine. This is my first retreat and I am really looking foward to it.

    Hi, BDor
I have seen them in the malls at the stores that sell luggage. You could also check out a home improvement store like Home Depot. They carry a bag that works well, for a lot less.

My husband says he thinks he got his at Staples. Who knew?

Hope you find one. It'll sure save your back lugging your machine.

I bought one of those rolling cases that they use for scrapbooking. It has a center divider that comes out of the large compartment and my machine fits fine in there. There are also other outside compartment for carrying other objects such as rulers, rotary cutters etc. I got mine at Joann's and with the coupon I believe it was only $20.00. Way more inexpensive than the sewing machine trolleys.

I find some of the best luggage on wheels at Salvation Army and Good Will, any second hand stores. I have bought them for as little as $2. Many of them are big enough to carry as sewing machine. Might try that.

Here's one at Amazon for about $20!

A sewing retreat sounds like a great idea!

I know several people who bought sewing machine totes at Joann's and are very satisfied with them. Check out this link:

Thanks Everyone! I am checking out all of the above. I hope I will get my daughters quilt done at this retreat. I have only planned to have it for the last 2 Christmas--so maybe this year.
