Need help on Thread looping

Yes, I just didn't know if it is the upper or the lower tension. Seems a few years ago I had trouble with little loops on the top occasionally and I did tighten the top tension. This is the bottom and I have tightened the bobbin tension but maybe it just isn't enough. Hate to mess up my stitches as they look good.

Hi...if the loops are forming on the bottom....it usually is the top tension that you need to tightening....if they are looping on the top...it is the bobbin tension....are the loops forming just when you are moving in a certain direction? Sometimes it can be a little piece of lint stuck somewhere so make sure everything is nice and clean....

on you Gammill, the little loops on the bottom may be caused by the need for a new bobbin backlash "spring" (the little metal thingy in the bobbin--and remember that the Gammill bobbins use a different backlash spring from the Towa bobbins). I've also been told that it may be caused by the check spring having lost it's springiness--so change out that too. My tech had told me that if you quilt pretty often, the check spring needs to be changed about every 12-18months.

Thank you all so very much! All good advice. I will try the top tension. It only happens maybe 4-5 times on a small quilt. I will also work on the springs. Those may very well be the problem. I have had my machine since 2008 and have never needed to change any springs and no issues except for wheels. Hope they are easy to do. My machine has been a dream to use. I have probably only done about 250-300 quilts. Thanks again everyone!!
