I have always had a narrow border around the twister blocks. Keep all the pieces on a table laid out together and mark to cut each out being careful not to cut into another block. Sew otogether in rows being very careful.

Again, thank you for your wonderful advice. I am going to a quilt retreat on Lake Superior in upper MI Oct 15th -20th. Planning to take this project along with several others. Only time will tell how much I get done. Love visiting with other quilters from 2 states.

If you want the border to be in the Twister pattern , then yes you do add it to the body of the Twister squares before cutting. I have seen both borders pieced in the Twister design and straight borders added after the Twister body is done. Some people add a pieced border after a plain border using the little waste squares from cutting the twisters.
Great idea so may try it. So glad for this board and the various ideas everyone shares

I just finished a little twister quilt - and when I say little - they are little. I started out with 2.5" blocks and they end up being 1.5" unsewn and just 1" sewn. They are cute - but tedious. I had to buy the smaller rotary cutter (18mm) to cut them out. I did put a border on first and then used the twister tool. After sewing it all together - I added 2 other borders. It was fun - but like I said - tedious. I laid my cut pieces out in rows on a cutting mat and just picked them up and sewed them together in rows and then sewed the rows together. Here's a little test one I did to try it out.

Ppquilter, there are actually 5 sizes of Twister rulers now. There are some new Twister patterns: Candy Cane Twist, a dog, and a few others will be out soon. There are also some new bed sized Twister patterns like the double wedding ring heart one.
