    I would use the black(center) with red and blue then the black(center again) with the green and yellow(orange yellow). JMO!!

    why not make it easy on yourself, cut at 3.5 nches, each finishes at 3 and your 9 patch becomes a 9 inch block?

    I prefer 5in. Squares. But you can do whatever size you want. I think for a D9P the bigger square are best, seems to show off the colors better to me.

    I'm new and can't remember the name but how about that quilt that has been on here lately that has different colors with black behind it;like a shadow; maybe that's it, shadow box

    I'd go with pinwheels or Ohio star pattern.

    I bought the same fabric to do a pinwheel also the friendship star. The background could be white and border with the black. Use the one square cut in 4 and it makes up easy.
