Being a Santa/Snowmen kind of Christmas gal, I am having a hard time coming up with ideas for a Black and white/silver Christmas tree skirt.

My DDIL called me yesterday asking for a black tree skirt for her "Black" Christmas tree. She said she will be using clear lights and silver or clear balls. Nothing cutesy.

All I have come up with so far is the skirt hex shape and some white on silver snowflakes I have done on my embroidery machine.

Every other panel is black with a b/w print for the other 3 panels. Please give me some suggestions.....I am not real happy with my efforts so far.

    The snowflakes are from http://www.emblibrary.com
    under "Lace".

I like it. I would add the snowflakes to all the black. quilt with silver snowflakes maybe? I think you are on the right track.

I think I would put that 5th snowflake on it also.

Silver thread for the quilting would add a touch of sparkle.

I'd add some silver or crystal glitz, perhaps "jewels" here and there or the silver metallic thread. Or how about a ruffle around the edge of some silver lame? My first thought was silver rickrack, but this looks a bit sophisticated for rickrack!

Ditto on the BLING. That fixes everything.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to "town" tomorrow (its a 120 mile round trip)to see if I can find some bling and maybe some fabric for the back to make it reversible.
