I just completed my first quilting class which consisted of 3hrs every Tuesday night for 9 weeks. We made a sample quilt and I learned applique, 9 patch, 4 patch and pieced quilting. I left the class feeling as if I had a very good base in which to continue my quilting education. My avatar is the quilt I made!

I am teaching a beg. quilting class at my LQS, and we are using the book "Start Quilting with Alex Anderson". The book has several blocks to sew, simpler ones first. Finished project is baby quilt size, but can go bigger. The students have very good feedback on using this book.

My quilt pictured is the one I learned in class. She taught us several easy blocks. One per class, and then the final class she taught us how to finish off the quilt. Which I have yet to do.

Thank you all for your replys. I appreciate your ideas and suggestions. Will let you know how the class progresses; however, it won't start for another month.
