Apparently colours shouldn't be too highly contrasting. Blue is soothing and peaceful. I like soft pinks and greens together, but that might be too contrasty...

I do love brights - they make me smile and I gravitate towards them when I want so do something to make someone smile. I just made another baby quilt - white on white background with lots of brights interspersed here :

another one - much older post but same types of choices in fabric here:

Orange, yellow, and white made me smile while DS was going through his divorce.

Now, I'm gonna tell you something here that most people don't like. Qrange is considered the happiest of colors by people who do these kinds of studies. I iind it weird that most people don't like orange but used in the right way, is a fabulous color to add to a scheme of happy colors. Yellow, orange and white are fabulous together.

I seen a log cabin quilt the other day made in really nice bright colors. Each block contained a variety of solid reds, yellows, greens, orange blues, lt blues, lime green, red w/white dots, green w/white dots, red and white checks, and green and white check fabric. Each block had a white border with a white outer border with a yellow binding.

I ran across this quilt doing a google search on pink lemonade. Someone even commented on that thread how "happy" that quilt looked. I quite agree!!

Down further on the first page is a close up and a cute picture of the grand baby on the quilt.

A zinger is orange or lime green. I use all colors together. Each day I like a different color. Hugs

Another good one I found recently is this one:

    https://www.shopfonsandporter.com/pr...t/new-arrivals

It has such a simple 2 block design that I was able to graph it myself without the pattern. I was able to find the same fabric as that in the image and it is very bright and happy.

I think all "Warm" tones are happy...cool colors are calming. I think any shade that matches white instead of tan would be a happy color. The exception to that would be neon colors...those make me nervous.
