You know, I never thought of it like that! My Grandmother always taught me to make things as if they were a gift, be proud to present it to someone, even if the intended is myself. So, I plan to make this for myself since it's my first Dresden Plates machine stitched and on my own ... hmmmm ... that seems to put me in a different mood about choosing. Thank you for that thought!

 NOT! I'm just afraid of white b/c my hubby's Papillon tends to jump up on the bed at will and sometimes, she'll have muddy feet not matter how hard we try to clean them when she comes in from outside!

I like the lite blue background. It blends well. the first and third seem to be fighting for attention. Just my opinion. What would grandma say?

Have you tried a pale yellow a pale green or orchid? Perhaps one of these colors might work. Why not get a pad of all colors of construction paper the large sheets and put the prepared block on different colors to see what you might like. I realize that construction paper is not fabric, but you are checking out color. This might give you an idea of what color you might want to go with. What was your grandmother's favorite color, you might try that color and see how it does.
