Bonnie has a lot of free well written quilt patterns

She makes most of her quilts big, but really even a baby quilt pattern can be king size, you just keep making blocks!

pretty much any pattern (i made my daughter's king sized wedding quilt from starting with a 14" x 20" center block)
can be made into a large quilt- you either make more blocks-increase the number in rows- make more rows or add borders- sometimes alternating narrow & wide borders- perhaps with a border of blocks surrounded by narrow borders...find a pattern you like- then think about how to increase it. you didn't say any particular technique/style of quilt you are considering...applique? pieced? paper pieced? simple? sampler? pictoral? scrappy? .....
