I too have ordered many pieces of fabric from CT.I have been VERY pleased overall.

I will tell you that the quality has varied. The price point is excellent the quality is clearly above the quality of Walmart and JoAnns fabric, but not the quality Moda and the like. I will continue to order from them. I did a Black, White and Red from CT for a former student and it came out really great.

I have ordered from Connecting Threads many times and have never been disappointed. Gray is a hard color to find. You may want to check out this website though for quality fabric. Was there not too long ago and was amazed at the number of gray tonal fabrics they carry. Go to: www.redroosterquilts.com and type...gray tonal in the search box. Huge selection but, definitely not inexpensive. The store is over 3000 sq. ft and they are SO friendly. Located in Dublin, Ohio. When the little swatches come up for viewing they appear to be solid colors but when you click on them they are crystal clear and gorgeous and, definitely, not a solid color. Don't know if this helps or not.

Put me on the side that likes Connecting Threads. It is lighter than Moda but very comparable to other LQS fabrics I have bought.

I use it and love it. I'm afraid I don't see any big difference

I spent days looking for fabric only to be hugely disappointed not only in the lack of choice in grey and black tone on tones. But what little I could find was extremely poor quality fabric. Very thin and crappy. I spent hours looking online and came across two of the three fabrics I need for this quilt at Connecting Threads.com Customer Service told me they manufacture all their own fabrics. Has anyone been ordering from them and if so . . . how did you like the quality of the fabric? I need 15 yards of one particular fabric and I would hate to order that much and be stuck with something that was poor quality. I'd love to hear your feedback!

    Thanks everyone! Sandi
I have ordered from them and find their fabric of a very good quality. I have made several table runners from their collections that have been washed a lot. No fading, running of colors, and they still look like new.

I don't think that the quality is up to LQS quality. It is much thinner. I don't buy fabric from then any more. I do like their thread. It is really good.

If you are looking for grey and black fabric there is a message posted about a new fabric-- Peggy Toole... "Florentine 3".
It is gorgeous fabric grey, black with a golden color too.
I also saw some beautiful fabric at www.quiltshops.com.

    Good luck

I have ordered fabric from and and was pleased with the quality. It was not poorly made and had an excellent "feel". In my opinion, you would not be disappointed if you order from them.
