Thanks, everyone! I think I'm going with dark coral and dark green. I want it to pop but I think black might be too much.

I wouldn't go black. I think you'd lose the flowers in the busy-ness of the red-black-white prints if you do that. I'd either go with an electric/bright blue blanket stitch on them all to really make them pop or I'd stitch them all in a matching color to each piece.

Love your quilt! And a green chevron outer border is cute if you want to add one.

I'd do a quick test. It might end up looking a bit greyish since red & green are direct compliments.

If you want the applique to pop I would do matching quilting around it. The second part would look good with contrast thread.

I prefer the applique to be what eyes focus on rather than the thread. I myself would crosshatch the border with the applique with matching thread to the background.

I think black would overpower your applique pieces. I would like the idea of darker values of the flowers and leaves. There is a lot of black in the body of the quilt. Please show us what you decide because you have gotten a full spectrum of opinion.

Dark coral satin stitch for the flowers and a matching green blanket stitch for the stems and leaves.

Match it to the pinky-orange fabric....don't detract from the applique.

My quilt shop always helps me pick out a multi-color thread when the LA my quilts. I love them. I would select a legacy, orangey, green combo.
