Default Need some help with colour

    Hi every one
I have been looking at this quilt for a week now and just can,t figure out that to do for the boarder around it . Not sure is I should go with a brighter colour or a dark colour.
I made some Aunt Eliza,s stars for it but it just does not work .
As I have said before my eye for colour is not the best .
So if you have any ideas on how to make this quilt pop out for me i,d really appreciate it .
    And thanks for your help.
    Tom

This beautiful quilt doesn't look like it needs borders, I think. It looks perfect just as it is. I would just bind it probably with the darkest color in the blocks.

It's beautiful, but if you want borders, how about a 1" finished gold from the center of your colours and then a 2" finished pink and then bind with the dark? Each of us have our preferences, that's what I would chose.

personally I'd want to put some more orange in that quilt for a border. perhaps some white first. Great quilt!!!

So some thing like a 2 inch strip of white and then 4 of a orange strip. the squares that look white in picture are really a off white. so you think a bright white then .
what about orange with white dots.
    Thanks for the help
    Tom

Do you have enough of any of the fabrics in the quilt for borders? I would not introduce another fabric unless it had all the colors in it. I would put a 1 inch border of one of the fabrics, followed by a border the same size as the squares. I usually lay the fabrics with just the amount I am thinking for the borders showing. I leave it where I can see it often. Usually within a day I know if it will work or not.

I'd do a 2" orange and then a 4-5" dark (I can't tell if it's brown or burgundy) with the same dark color binding. I'd use colors that were solid or read as a solid. If you decide to use a white, I'd try to match the off-white of the quilt. It's a beautiful quilt, Tom.

Before you add borders...Are you aware you have one more strip on the right side than the left? One side ends with orange block even with center square. other side ends with pink. I would add one more strip then decide.
