    If they are silk ties I would be careful with the vinegar washing. Basically, airing out or the old baking soda trick would probably work best.

    Thanks for the quick responses! I have them soaking in washer with both baking soda and white vinegar. Will let them soak this morning and then run gentle cycle in washer and hang out to dry and air out....
    I don't have time to open them up right now, although I think that's one of the best suggestions. I will post results!
