Phyllis, seems like others have good suggestions. It sounds like you are on the right track with the idea of relating something of your dad's farming - the tree idea.

(I can identify with your dilema. I am making a quilt with photos for my folks' anniversary, and am not sure how to include my brother's first wife ---- )

Your blocks so far are beautiful.
I agree about the not in your face and that was why I did it this way but one of my sisters pointed out he was a part of her life for 50 years so trying to and felt he should be on there so trying but thanks that helps some

Just a thought. I'm sure you'd prefer to have your dad present on the front somewhere, but maybe it'll spark an idea from someone else.
I have thought of that too thanks I'm calling one of my sisters now to talk to her and brainstorm thanks

I'm not sure what kind of farm you had, but did your dad like any special equipment that could become part of the landscape beneath the tree trunk or favorite animal? My Aunt and Uncle had a farm with all kinds of tractors and such, horses, a garden, etc. Would be kinda diplomatic just between them sortof thing?

Phyllis - I thought Trevor was the on-again off-again new husband. Didn't mean to yank a beloved family member. My Bad!
