Need suggestions please
I have a lot of Easter fabrics; you know, the kind with eggs, chicks and bunnies; in pretty springy colors. But I don't have any young children to make quilts for, and none of my family actually decorates for Easter so making Easter quilts is not really an option.
I would like some suggestions of how I can use these fabrics that would not come out looking like an Easter quilt. I do love the colors, etc.
Any suggestions are fully appreciated in advance!!! Hugs and smiles......

Bonnie Hinter uses everything in her scrap quilts. You might try a scrap pattern and mixed with other fabrics it will not be as noticeable. She is currently mixing a piece of Y2OOO fabric in all her quilts. Sign up for an I Spy swap because those sound like good fabrics for that. You would get other interesting fabrics back to mix with yours.

If you really don't want to use it in a quilt and you have lots, make a hooked rug. They were very popular a few years back and I used up quite a bit of fabric that I really didn't like for rugs. Whatever the pattern on the fabric will not be seen..... and they are really great rugs.

If you crochet, you can cut it into strips and crochet bags, placemats, etc. with it. Also, I just learned a new technique for making the clothesline bowls. Cut strips 1-1/4" wide, sew strips together, place cotton clothesline (available at any Walmart) in center of strip and sew using a zipper foot, as if you were making piping. Trim the excess fabric as close to the seam as possible. Start a coil and sew with a zig zag and variegated thread, coiling as you go. When the base is approximately 4-5", start angling the base up and continue to coil and sew until the bowl is as tall as you want. You can begin with a circle or with an oval. 8 strips makes a bowl about 3" tall. This is great for left over jelly roll strips, too.
