Need suggestions for a quilt for a 12 year girl

Pinwheels or stars in her favorite colors would be nice,you don't want to do something too young, she might want to keep it for a long time and she will be entering high school soon so you might want to do a timeless pattern, something that can grow with her

I showed an 8 year old how to make a "hannah ???" bedspread/quilt/pillowcase for her own single bed.
We used panels.
