So sorry!
But I would shop around for a similar replacement, and don't sell yourself short. Here is one on etsy for 1500$

Stopped at a quilt shop on my way home from Fla. and they had a hand quilted queen size for $2500. The cheaper ones they had were made in China and were in the 300-500 range. Good luck with getting this through and don't underestimate yourself!!

This is a good reason to have your quilts appraised by a professional appraiser. Most insurance companies will honor the appraisal price. I have all my quilts appraised. If I am giving the quilt away I attach the appraisal to the quilt for the recipients files. Wish you luck in getting some settlement for the stolen quilt.

I agree that anywhere from $1000 to $3500 is reasonable, to cover ALL the expenses putting this project together - materials and time, but how do you put a dollar amount on the emotional loss??
So sorry this has happened to you.

What a tragedy, all that work and an absolutely stunning quilt. Hopefully your Homeowner's insurance can be helpful, and although it's hard to put a price on your treasure, I would think that between $1,000 and $2,000 would be a reasonable amount, especially since it was hand quilted.
