agree with Gramie bj.....I made a log cabin (actually 2 more after the first) and you can sew it in one day. Now I wasn't able to do the quilting but when I did it I did SID and that took about another 2 days. LG's are one of my fav's.

Bonnie Hunter's strip twist. sew easy and fast but the results are stunning. i always get very positive responses from people.

Honestly something as easy as 10 inch squares can quilt up quickly if you find an awesome fabric collection. I did one that was more of 10x14 rectangles and it is one of my favorite couch quilts.
But partially it will depend on your DDs likes and dislikes and honestly what you like making.

And there is a part 2, fast an easy and colors and it will look good.
Saw a quilt in Joannes the other day with 8" squares, 2.5" strips in square in a square and colors were beautiful.

I LOVE Boxed Squares! I have made it at least twelve times. It's easy and can be impressive with lots of colors. Also, the block can be any size you want. Another good traditional quilt is Log Cabin. I made an all blue one for Jim, and a tan and brown one for myself.
