Small bent pins and the covers and the kwik klip. I love them all. Well worth the investment since pinning is a big job and making it easier sure helps.

Never thought of a grapefruit spoon. I just use a regular teaspoon.

I use both sizes , somedays my stiff fingers have trouble working with the small pins.

I never had to use a spoon to help close them, but I used size 1 cause 2's were just a bit too big and I had trouble getting them into the layers and back up. I do like them because you can take them out easier as you go and you do not have tags of thread around. A hint to remember, you might want to pin from the back. I found that I did not get hung up with my thread as much as I hand quilt. Anything to make things go faster. good luck.....
