I love window seats. Make the window seat comfortable and use it for breaks or whenever you need to ponder things. Position your design wall so you have an excellent view from the window seat. It may become your favourite thing in your room!

I have a built on window seat in what is going to be my quilting room and I. We'd suggestions on what to do with it.
It. An. It can not be removed. It's a out knee high and is @ 6 feet long. A lot of wasted space. I need some ideas on what to do with it. How can I best utilize it on my room? It's only 18 in wide too.
Thanks for the help.
I'm a visual learn so if you have pictures of your ideas that would be even better!

I have a chest type piece of furniture in my living room that the top opens. It is my 'coffee [clutter] table. I used to store quilting fabric in it. I have changed things around for better use by me. Now the chest holds all my stabilizers [since they are heavy] and my sewing [clothing] fabrics.
My sewing projects are together and now the studio if for all my quilting needs, except for a smallish pretty 4 drawer chest of drawers. The top drawer holds the small quilting items like extra blades, extra rotary cutters [the ones I use only rarely], small plastic templates; one drawer is for my LA thread and items LA; one drawer is for my Aurifil and specialty thread; one drawer is for my garment sewing supplies; the bottom drawer is for my serger threads and large cones of decorative yarns or threads. It is so pretty I have it by my front door.
The nice thing about having the extra space is that there is no "foul" if I decide to change things around. I arranged the stuff for my convenience.

My Mom grows plants on her window seat. My grandparents just left it as a seat, which my cat loved. I would see what you could do for storage options in or below it, as suggested above. If you have pets, let them sit there. Quilt a cover for the seat and sit on it.

If it doesn't open up, you could buy those storage cubes and line them up along the bench. http://www.target.com/p/way-basics-e...FRRsfgodb0MAmw
