I have the flat triangular "thingy" and use it every time I clean my machine....if you wrap some cotton adhesive tape (like the stuff drs use to wrap up fingers) around it several times, it will be easier to grip and use.....my machine came with one and I would be lost without it.

I agree 100%. A friend of mine was just flipping today over mine. I love, love, love it.

People have laughed at me but I usually use a penny or nickle depending on machine and size of slot in screw.

It is shorter than the white handled screwdrivers that come with many machines.
WOW, those are stubby. My stubby is probably 2" long--------and it was the shortest I found at Ace. Thanks for that tip!

I repair sewing machines, and the screwdrivers I use for the needle plate are about 12 inches long. These are a bit more expensive, but they will allow you to clear both the needle bar lifter in the back and the the tension knob in the front. Those short stubby ones will often not allow you the proper angle.

I have this too - love it. I also have the Stubbys - three different ones but I don't have hand strength enough to make them work. The ratchet set gives me leverage.
