Needle Recommendations?

Needle Recommendations?
I thought I had a site that explained what needle, thread, etc to use on various fabrics. But, I'm not finding it tonight!!
Can someone point me in the right direction?
My sister is making stockings of loosen woven burlap, lined with a poly cotton and the cuffs will be a canvas type of upholstery fabric. We went thru my "extensive" collection of needles and with the magnifying glass read the "fine print"...LOL...nothing I had specifically mentioned burlap.
She has a midline Brother machine and we want to make sure she doesn't damage it sewing the burlap!
