I messed up my poor sewing machine while making a qwillow. It is due back from the repair shop any day now. What size needle should I use to sew on the pillow? The front is cotton and the backing is flannel. I already broke one needle. TIA

A 16 sounds right to me.

All the quillows I've made had reversable pockets that the quilt folded in to make a pillow. If you are sewing a whole pillow on, I would think your machine would have to be real sturdy.
