Needle Turn Applique Quilts
#31
I appreciate all kinds of applique techniques.I've done a little needle-turn and like it.It takes time and patience.I am making a mini now that is machine appliqued and it's been fun, too. It is almost overwhelming to see all the things I'd like to be skilled at.

I've done several needle turn applique projects. But, I do all kinds of machine applique too. It really depends on the use of the quilt and the pattern. I like to have one hand applique project going so I can do it while watching t.v. at night.

I like to have a needle turn patchwork project on the go. I do this while I'm watching T.V with Hubby. At the moment I am doing a sunbonnet Sue Quilt, very slowly and not to well but I should be better by the time I have finished. lol. The only thing I don't like about it is the fine needle, it takes me ages to thread even with a needle threader. (my eyesight is not the best, sign of getting older I guess.

I just love needle turn App. because its so portable. It also allow you to "customize" what you're doing. My avatar and my garden quilt pitures are all hand turned.
Within my guild there are a group who are forming an applique group. I just can't do machine sapplique on anything I consider heirloom. But I am trying to get over that as I think that's what most of the art quilts are and my original work seems to be drifting in that direction.
