I sew with No. 12 quilting needles and yes they bend. I have bent several. Stuck them in my fingers too. Ouch!

I quilt with Roxanne needles - usually #11's but sometimes #12's. Don't have issues with the 11's bending but sometimes the 12's. But not usually when sewing on the binding.

I have snapped needles in half when hand quilting, and bent them also. It seems to happen with one package, then the next package, no snapped needles.

I have bent and broken needles while quilting but not while sewing on binding.

I like long skinny needles and most of them bend. A thicker or a short needle just doesn't feel right.

I had never thought about it. I just expected the needle to bend after using it for a while because it always had. I just make sure I have a supply on hand. I have not paid attention to the brand so i cannot speak to that.

I think she's talking about hand sewing, not machine sewing.
