Lthose ate beautiful Jeanne. I like lots of color but these could send me the other way. There is something to be said for low value coloring. Very restful

Just ask her to look at various patterns on Google Image and see what she prefers. There are Chevrons patterns, D9s, HSTs, Trip around the World or even the quilt that Jeanne suggested. Let her pick out what appeals to her.

If you search Modern Quilt Patterns on pinterest you will come up with some lovely non-traditional looking quilts. I pinned a slew of them yesterday.

Another phrase to check out for pinterest or google would be "low volume quilts"

Maybe research low volume quilts since she mentions neutral, creme and grey.
This is what comes up when I google.

Here is an example with Chevrons.

This is real easy to whip up using a Missouri Star Quilt Company tutorial and two packs of ten inch squares.

You could look at a bargello pattern. With the strip piecing it would go together quickly, too!
