Very Nice. Will the flower be appliqued? I see a very nice scrappy in your future.

Dating the work and sending a copy to yourself or putting it in your lock box does not protect the design. It is obvious from all these posts that you have an original work. Sure, the law says once you do the work it is copyright protected. However, if you should have to go to court and prove it or sue because someone else did a pattern, you might win but you will have to pay the court costs which could be thousands of dollars. I know this from other cases dealing with quilt copyrights. It is easy and inexpensive to get a registration. I would not wait until you have all the instructions written. Register the design now and then again when the instructions are finished. Just think, someone may have already made a copy of your design and registered the copyright claiming it as his/her own.

1st..I would hate to think that someone on QB would steal this from you...however...since this is on the wide open "internet"...you really need to do whatever you have to do to copyright that great pattern.
2nd...I am another person who would gladly pay for your pattern.

you all are just so awesome!!! I did finish the quilt and posted it in the scrappy quilts album thread by mistake. I delivered the quilt to my friend having chemo and she was thrilled with it. I have worked out all the "bugs" and think I can write up the pattern. Anyone who wants it, please PM me and I will let you know when it is ready. Hugs and smiles... Here is the quilt finished. To see the back, etc. check out the scrappy thread.

The flower and other focal squares are all fussy cut from fabrics I have in my stash.
